AERO Conducts Session on Biodiversity Registers and School Habitat Enhancement at St. Andrew’s High School, Goa
Harshada Gauns, Head of Education at Arannya Environment Research Organisation (AERO), conducted an engaging session at St. Andrew’s High School, Goa, focusing on the importance of maintaining a Biodiversity Register and enhancing school habitats.
The session introduced students and teachers to the significance of documenting local biodiversity and understanding the variety of plants, animals, and other organisms found within and around their school environment. It also highlighted how creating and maintaining nature-friendly spaces can support local biodiversity and provide opportunities for experiential environmental learning.
Through this initiative, participants explored ways to contribute to biodiversity documentation, improve school habitats, and develop a stronger sense of environmental responsibility. Such practices can help schools become active spaces for learning about and conserving nature.
By encouraging students and teachers to observe, document, and protect the biodiversity around them, AERO continues to promote environmental education and support long-term, community-driven conservation efforts within school ecosystems.
