Wetland Wonders Fest!

Arannya Environment Research Organisation, Goa Forest Department- Government of Goa, Wetlands International - South Asia @wetlandsint_sa , Village Panchayat- Carambolim and Biodiversity Management Committee- Carambolim, through the UN Environment Programme @unep - Global Environment Facility @gef_global_environment - Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change @moefccgoi , Government of India funded ‘Integrated Management of Wetland Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services’, celebrated World Wetlands Day 2025 (The Convention on Wetlands) at Carambolim Lake- IBA. This innovative program connected 70 students to their neighbourhood wetland which is a world icon! Our team at AERO led by @jalmeshkarapurkar the Programme Coordinator for WWD 2025, created Five activity zones- Knowledge, Experiment, Art, Craft and Game. There were on the spot painting, essay and poem competitions. Students were thoroughly engrossed for the entire day learning and enjoying at these zones. The ocassion was graced by RFO, Campal- Shri. Tukaram Kharbe, Panch Member Carambolim VP- Shri. Rajesh Naik, BMC Chairperson BMC, Caramnbolim VP- Devanand Kawlekar and Member of BMC, Caramnbolim VP- Dinesh Usgaonkar. We are grateful to the teachers and students of Smt. Sunandabai Bandodkar High School and Madkaikar Navachaitanya High School for their active participation and involvement.Shoutout to @tushareventic_5511 for the great arrangements on the ground!
