Swachhta Pakhwada 2024: 1st July - 15th July

As part of our Swachhta Pakhwada celebrations from July 1-15, 2024, we held an awareness program on waste management at GES’s Gurukul High School in Khola, Goa.

This joint initiative between Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) @ongcofficial @ongcfoundation and Arannya Environment Research Organisation (AERO) aims to promote cleanliness and sustainable waste practices in our community.

As part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2024, a joint initiative by ONGC and AERO, an awareness program was organized at Gopalkrishna High School focusing on the wildlife of Goa and the importance of waste management. The session aimed to educate students about local biodiversity while instilling responsible waste practices, fostering a sense of environmental stewardship among the younger generation. Such activities are integral to Swachhta Pakhwada’s mission of promoting cleanliness and sustainability in schools and communities.




As part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2024, ONGC and AERO organized an informative session for ONGC Goa staff on the importance of waste management in daily life. The program aimed to raise awareness about sustainable waste practices and encourage responsible behavior among employees. By emphasizing the significance of proper waste segregation and disposal, the initiative supports ONGC’s ongoing commitment to promoting cleanliness and environmental stewardship within the organization, aligning with the broader goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission



As part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2024 celebrations, ONGC and AERO organized a seed ball distribution activity at Gurukul High School, Khola. Students received seed balls made from native tree species, thanks to the efforts of @vishnurane96. This initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to participate in reforestation and conservation efforts. By involving young minds in hands-on activities, the program supports a greener future and reinforces the importance of sustainability in the community.





As part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2024, ONGC and AERO elevated their #NoSUP (No Single Use Plastic) initiative by empowering students of Gurukul High School to spread awareness about plastic pollution in Khola village. Specially designed pamphlets were distributed by students to local households and shops, delivering vital messages on reducing single-use plastic. This hands-on outreach not only educated the community but also inspired active participation in environmental conservation, reinforcing the importance of collective action for a cleaner, greener future.




As part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2024, ONGC and AERO organized a workshop on waste management for students of S S Angle Higher Secondary School, Mashem Canacona. The session aimed to educate students about the importance of proper waste segregation, recycling, and sustainable practices in daily life. Through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, the workshop encouraged responsible waste management and environmental stewardship, empowering students to contribute actively to a cleaner and healthier community.





A quiz and poster-making competition brought extra excitement to Swachhta Pakhwada 2024 at GES Gurukul High School, Canacona. The event saw enthusiastic participation and a fantastic response from students, highlighting their creativity and awareness about sustainability. Organized in collaboration with ONGC and AERO, the competition aimed to foster environmental consciousness and inspire students to live harmoniously with nature. Such initiatives support the vision of building a well-informed, eco-friendly society for a cleaner and greener future.




As part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2024, students from Government Higher Secondary School, Sanguem, performed a street play on waste management at the Sanguem bus stand. Organized by ONGC and AERO, the engaging performance aimed to raise public awareness about proper waste disposal and environmental responsibility. Through creative storytelling and enthusiastic participation, the students effectively conveyed the importance of sustainable practices, inspiring the local community to adopt cleaner habits and contribute to a healthier environment.




As part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2024, ONGC and AERO organized a cleanliness drive at Morlem Waterfall, bringing together enthusiastic volunteers to restore the natural beauty of the site. The initiative received invaluable support from the Morlem Biodiversity Management Committee, ensuring the drive’s success. Participants worked collaboratively to remove litter and promote environmental stewardship, reflecting a strong community commitment to conservation and sustainability. Such efforts play a vital role in preserving Goa’s natural treasures for future generations.
